Army reshuffle: New ISI chief takes over

ISLAMABAD: In the ongoing reshuffle in the high command of the Pakistan army, a number of new corps commanders and the new Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) chief have been appointed.

Major-General Zarrar Azim, till presently the Director General Pakistan Rangers, has been promoted to
Lieutenant General and appointed Corps Commander Lahore. He replaces Lieutenant-General Mohammed Aziz who has assumed charge of Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee as a full General.

Lieutenant General Mohammed Jan Orakzai, the Adjutant General of the Pakistan Army, has been appointed Corps Commander Peshawar in place of Lieutenant General Ahsanul Haq, who has been made the new Director General of the ISI. Both have assumed their respective charges immediately.

Lieutenant General Mushtaq Hussain, Corps Commander Quetta, has been transferred to the GHQ Rawalpindi as Director General of Weapons and Equipment. Lieutenant General Abdul Qadir Baloch, the Corps Commander Gujranwala has been assigned the Corps at Quetta.
