NA forms security force for Kabul

F P ReportPESHAWAR: Northern Alliance leaders and military commanders in a high-level meeting in Gulbahar with the ousted president Burhanuddin Rabbani in chair, decided to march on Kabul, capital of Afghanistan, Afghan sources reported here on Wednesday. The alliance has mobilized a 7.000 strong military force for maintaining security in Kabul.

According to a report, the meeting analyzed the current military and political situation of the country and decided to launch a massive assault with the aim of capturing Kabul before attending talks with the Rome Peace Process.

Sources informed that in addition to Rabbaini, the meeting was attended by Ettehad-e-Islami chief Prof. Sayyaf, Younus Qanoni, Dr. Abdullah, Sayyed Hussian Anwari, Haji Qadir, Muttaleb Baig, Besmellah Khan and some field commanders.

Sources further said that the Northern Alliance has recruited 7000 armed men from Takhar, Badakhshan and Balkh provinces for the planned attack on Kabul. This force is called Nirou-ye-Muhafez-e-Kabul (Kabul Security Force) which would be responsible for maintain the security of Kabul city, Maidan Shahr and Sarobi, sources added.
