Pak posts at Torkham attacked Islamabad, Nov 27, IRNA -- Troops on the Afghanistan side of Torkham border fired rockets on two Pakistani posts Monday afternoon, reported a local daily Tuesday. "The News" said it was a surprise attack on Khyber Rifles posts. Two rockets were fired from a distance of only 500 yards from Shamnshadsir hillside in Afghanistan. The daily explained at 1 p.m., about half a dozen Northern Alliance fighters, who recently took charge of the Burand Line, sprayed hundreds of Kalashnikov bullets followed by two rockets targeting Awal check posts No. 1 and No. 2, at Awal Killi village. One rocket landed only 50 meters off the Awal check post No. 1, while the second landed between Awal check posts, the daily pointed out. |
