Taliban send troops to Ghowr province Frontier Post ISLAMABAD (NNI): A group of the Taliban's fresh forces has been sent to central Ghowr Province from western Herat and southwestern Nimruz Provinces, opposition Northern Alliance said Wednesday.The alliance reported that forces belonging to the governor of Herat province, Mulla Khairullah Khayrkhah, has gone to Teywarah District in the south of Ghowr Province from two directions, Shindand in the north of western Farah Province and Dolayna. Another group of forces under the command of Qayyum Akhondzada went to Teywarah District of Ghowr Province from the areas of Chah and Shahrak in the west of Ghowr Province. Meanwhile, a considerable number of the forces belonging to the governor of Nimruz Province and 100 men belonging to Mola Abdul Haq have also set off for Teywarah District. It was stated that over the past few weeks, the Taliban had sent thousands of their forces to Ghowr Province from neighboring provinces. However, until now, they have failed to crush the opposition's resistance in this province.The sources say as cold weather is coming, the Taliban's problems will be doubled in mountainous Ghowr Province. |
