Loya Jirga termed only solution to Afghan problem

PESHAWAR - The United Nations has failed to restore peace in Afghanistan rather it could not stop foreign interference in the war torn country.

It has even no proposal for the solution of Afghan crisis but only present recommendation,² said Shahzada Masoud, Chairman foreign affairs committee, of the Great National Islamic United Front.

In a press statement issued here on Saturday, he said that the UN had sent its six representatives to Afghanistan but all of them had failed to find out a solution to the Afghan crisis.

He said that the UN and other international bodies should support the proposal of convening emergency traditional Loya Jirga for the solution of Afghan crises.

The convening of emergency Loya Jirga, Shahzada said that was the only solution of Afghanistan crises.

This is the only means to restore peace in Afghanistan as it has the support of the majority of the people.

He asked the members of Security Council to discuss the proposal of emergency Loya Jirga presented by the former Afghan king, Zahir Shah...

He said the imposition of economic sanctions on Afghanistan would further affect the Afghan nation and increase their problems.

Shahzada Masoud asked America, European countries and other international community to pay attention towards the solution of the Afghan crises and work for the permanent solution of the issue.

The formation of national government and the war could only be solved through the emergency Loya Jirga. He said that the problems of terrorism and heroin could also be ended if there is a representative government in Afghanistan.

He said the world should find out a political solution instead of crushing the Afghan nation by imposing further economic sanctions who are already engraved by the sanctions.

Expressing grave concern over the present situation, he said that another 33, 000 fresh Afghan refugees had arrived Pakistan due to the recent wave of wars.

The drought and severe winter season had multiplied the miseries of the helpless Afghan nation.

He said that various types of diseases had spread among them and the world should not ignore them in this difficult time.

He claimed that the solution of the problems of Afghan nation was lying in convening the emergency Loya Jirga to overcome their miseries.
