Leader of Islamic party calls for revolting against Taleban

Tehran, Nov 7 IRNA-Itar-Tass-ACSNA -- Leader of Afghanistan's

Islamic Party Gulbeddin Hekmatyar called on all Afghans to revolt

against the Taleban movement.

There is no way and we should revolt against the Talebs and put

an end to the civil war, he said in Tehran on Monday.

Hekmatiar condemned Pakistan's interference in Afghanistan's

affairs and said that only the revolt will facilitate the resolution

of the Afghan problem. We are not optimistic over the results of the

talks with the Talebs, he said, adding that the party will continue

armed actions in the north of the country.

Last week the leadership of the Taleban Movement and the Northern

Alliance agreed to hold indirect talks under the U.N. auspices in

order to ensure peace in Afghanistan.

The U.N. secretary-general's special envoy to Afghanistan,

Francecs Vendrell, pointed out that both sides sent messages to the

United Nations and said that they will do their best to put an end to

the war in Afghanistan as soon as possible.
