Two more opposition commanders join Taliban

ISLAMABAD (NNI): Two commanders of the opposition have joined the Taliban forces in north Afghanistan, the second defection from the opposition in a week, Afghan official news agency has reported.

Commander Rais Juma along with a total of 300 armed men and 700 unarmed men have come over to the side of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Bakhtar news agency reported. He was operating in Guldarah district of Samangan province. Rais Juma has brought with himself large quantity of light and heavy weapons.

In another report, 38 armed men under the command of Mohammad Sarwar, a commander of the opposition, have joined the forces of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Khwaja Ghar district, north of the country.

"Joining the Islamic Emirate, the opposition armed men pledged to fight for the cause of the Islamic Emirate".
