ISLAMABAD (NNI): The leader of the anti-Taliban northern alliance in Jeddah peace talks on Afghanistan, Dr. Abdullah has appreciated the OIC initiative to invite the Afghan warring factions to peace talks, reports Radio Tehran.

"We consider it a right step. We have enunciated our position which is that Afghan conflict should be restored on the basis of just solution acceptable to the people of Afghanistan", Abdullah said.

He said that they are making efforts to find ways of restoring durable peace in Afghanistan on the basis of granting the rights to the people of Afghanistan to decide their fate. "In this regard, we have spelt out position and assured our cooperation in this respect. We hope that the initiative of OIC and its mission ends up in the restoration of peace in Afghanistan or pave way in this regard"
