Hijacked plane for sale NEW DELHI (NNI): Indian Airlines (IA) wants to sell the Airbus A-300 which was hijacked by on Christmas eve and commandeered to Kandahar in Afghanistan. IA managing director Anil Baijal has been given approval for leasing out the plane, but IA authorities are waiting for the green light to sell the 23-year-old aircraft, The Hindustan newspaper reported. The 217-seat plane was flown back here Saturday, a day after its 161 passengers and crew returned, having been set free in exchange for the release of three jailed Mujahideen. |
