Afghan opposition appeals to UN for relief assistance

ISLAMABAD (NNI): The Anti-Taliban Northern Alliance has appealed to the United Nations to provide aid to those thousands of people who left their homes after Taliban attacked the area in the Northern Afghanistan.

The spokesman of the alliance Muhammad Mohaqqaiq said that Taliban forced thousands of people to leave their homes after their attack in Sangcharak area. He said these homeless people took shelter in Abikallan and Amrukh areas of northern Afghanistan.

He said that these people need food, tents and medicines. He further said that Taliban forced the people to leave their homes and then set their homes on fire. Taliban have however denied the opposition allegations.
