Harkat-e-Islami still intact: Ali Javed

ISLAMABAD (NNI): The head of Central Council of Harkat-e-Islami Afghanistan, Syed Mohammad Ali Javed has said that contrary to the claims of the opponents, the party is intact and Ayatullah Mohseni is heading it.

Earlier, a supporter of commander Anwari, Mohammad Zahir Wasiq told the BBC from Mashad that after a series of meeting, the Leadership Council of Harkat-e-Islami decided that the party would no longer be led by an individual rather a council excluding Mohseni and Syed Mohammad Ali Javed would run the party affairs.

However, Syed Muhammad Ali Javed rejected the claims of his opponents and said that Anwari along with a number of others has been expelled from the party. He said that Anwari and ten others had committed a number of financial, political and administrative irregularities and the party leadership and Central Council repeatedly asked them to give up such irregularities but they continued it.

He added that Central Council held its meeting some four months ago under the leadership of Ayatullah Mohseni wherein Anwari and few others were expelled from the party. He said that Central Council and party leadership remains intact and the expulsion of handful of elements would not cast any effect on political and military stands of the party.
