five thousand afghan people desert home living in mountainous area

holy qom, jan. 27, irna -- at least five thousand afghan people from sar-e-pul province have deserted their homes in the town of sangcharik and are living in the mountainous area under critical conditions, shi'ite movement of afghanistan said on thursday. the people living in sar-e-pul province the majority of whom are shi'ite fear of taliban's harassment for their alleged cooperation with the united front of afghanistan. meanwhile, the wahdat-i-islami party of afghanistan said it had already appealed to the united nations high commissioner for refugees (unhcr) to help the people of the town of sangcharik who deserted their home following the war in the past few months between taliban and the united front forces which led to liberation of a large part of area.
