ISI offered money to MQM, claims Altaf Frontier Post Bureau Report KARACHI __ Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has claimed that a portion of Rs 140 million distributed amongst leaders of Islami Jamhoori Ittehad (IJI) by Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) was also brought to Nine Zero by a Brigadier of Pakistan army but he refused it." He made these claim while addressing the workers in a study circle at The International Secretariat of MQM in London. "We have fought three wars with India. We are spending a huge portion of the country's budget on defence. It is worth noting that audit of the military expenditure is not carried out, he added. Addressing the workers at party's London secretariat, Altaf Hussain said the ISI instead of performing its duties of keeping an eye on the enemies takes keen interest in the politics of the country. A clear example is the Mehran Bank Scandal, which is being heard in the Supreme Court but the director general ISI has ordered the Supreme Court judges not to carry out proceedings of this case despite the admission by the former chief of army staff General (Retd) Aslam Beg of depositing Rs 140 million in an account with the Mehran Bank, he added. He said that General Aslam Beg had admitted that this money was distributed by the ISI amongst the leaders of the Islami Jamhoori Ittehad (IJI). He claimed that General Aslam Baig also sent a portion of this money to MQM. At that time, the entire central committee of the MQM was present at Nine Zero. One Brigadier brought the money on behalf of General Aslam Bag. He said that in front of the central committee, he had utterly refused to accept the money and had clarified that we never Ever want monetary dealings to come between our relationship with the army, therefore, we could not accept it. He said later in Rawalpindi, during a meeting with General Aslam Baig at his residence, he clearly told him that we had returned the money sent by him. The reason to inform him was that he might have been told that the MQM had accepted the money and the intermediary would have gobbled it. General replied that he was aware that the MQM had completely refused to accept that money. He said that soon he would enlighten the nation about the misconduct and misdeeds of General Asif Nawaz (late), General Abdul Waheed Kakar, General Jehangir Karamat, former Chief of ISI General Hameed Gul, former ISI Chief General Asad Durrani and others, whose deeds and misdeeds have not come out in the open. Altaf Hussain said in future statements he would also unveil those faces that apparently pose virtuous as well as claim piety while engaging in playing heinous games with the fate of the country. They have been committing act of treachery with their oath and the country. During this act of treachery, they use a particular idiom that they are committing this in the "larger interest of the country". He stated that many times ISI endeavored to purchase his principles and soul but his resolve, determination, thoughts, philosophy and ideology protected him. He said his only crime was he did not compromise his resolve, philosophy, ideology, thoughts and determination in exchange for treasures. |
