Whereabouts of Afghan commander not yet known Frontier Post PESHAWAR (PR) - The family of Afghan Commander Jamiatullah Khan alias Jalal who is missing since 1995 is still waiting his return or whereabouts. Jalal who came to the limelight in the Afghan Jihad, was the general secretary of Council for Unity Understanding and National Reconciliation in Afghanistan. The Council was a loose forum of different Afghan Commanders, writers, intellectuals and tribal leaders who, after the withdrawal of soviet troops from Afghanistan, instead of siding with different war lords, had join hands for the restoration of peace in their war ravage country. On February 18, l995 he went missing from his house in Defence Officers Colony Khyber Road Peshawar and since then his relatives have been knocking at each and every door to trace him but in vain. In the past, during the Afghan jihad, Jalal had fought against Russians the platform of Afghan National Front of Syed Ahmad Gilani and Afghan liberation Front of Sibghatullah Mujaddadi. His wife and the only daughter had appealed to help them find his whereabouts. |
