Rabbani for broad based political front in Afghanistan

TEHRAN (NNI): The deposed Afghan President, Burhanuddin Rabbani Monday called for the formation of a broad based political front in the war-ravaged Afghanistan, reports Radio Tehran.

Such a political front, he said, would restore peace and stability in Afghanistan besides fulfilling the wish and demand of the international community and Afghans for return of peace to Afghanistan.

In a letter to the Afghan scholars, intellectuals, national elders, elite and jihad commanders, Rabbani asked them to make efforts for putting an end to the Afghan war by setting aside communal and ethnic groupings.

He also urged the Afghans, to rescue the war-shattered country by forging unity in their ranks.
