Taliban retake Dara-e-Soof district TEHRAN (NNI): Taliban Monday succeeded in recapturing strategic Dara-e-Soof district in Samangon province from Ahmed Shah Masood forces, reports Radio Tehran. The student militia launched a major operation in the district to oust the opposition forces who had earlier captured it. Taliban did succeed in retaking the district from opposition commander. Meanwhile, a leader of Afghan opposition, Javed accused Taliban of committing massacre during the capture of the district and ousting the opponents from northern and north-western areas of Afghanistan. The Taliban mouth piece, Radio Shariat reported that ten opponents were arrested and a number of others killed during operation against the evil forces in Dara-e-Soof district in Samangon province. Taliban accused the opponents of disrupting peaceful atmosphere in the district claiming that complete peace and tranquility now prevails in the area. |
