Taliban execute foreign 'spies' hunting Osama

Frontier Post Report

PESHAWAR - Taliban militia have executed a Jordanian and a Saudi Arabian for "spying" on Osama bin Laden, highly-placed Afghan sources said here Wednesday. The sources close to Afghanistan's ruling militia told The Frontier Post that the two "spies" were hanged a few days back in Kandahar, Taliban's supreme leader Mullah Omar base. The Taliban arrested red-handed the Jordanian, Abu Al-Moubtassim, and the Saudi Arabian, Abu Masaad, on suspicion of spying on Osama for a foreign power while passing on information to Israeli intelligence network, Mosad. The Jordanian's wife had admitted in a letter to the Taliban that her husband was working for an unnamed intelligence service and pleaded for his life to be spared, the sources said. They disclosed that the two "spies" were arrested by Osama's Arab loyalists and after investigation they were handed over to the Taliban authorities. The Osama loyalists demanded of the militia that the Jordanian and the Saudi Arabian should be awarded "capital" punishment, they said. Peshawar-based Arab community also confirmed death penalty to the two Arab spies. However, the Taliban denied having executed Moubtassim and Masaad. "There are no truths in the reports," a spokesman for the ruling militia told this paper from Kandahar.
