rabbani arrives in tehran

tehran, dec. 19, irna -- head of afghanistan's islamic government burhanuddin rabbani arrived here sunday morning and was welcomed at the airport by deputy foreign minister for asia and pacific affairs, mohsen aminzadeh. rabbani, accompanied by three members of his new cabinet, will discuss the latest developments in afghanistan as well as mechanisms to settle the crisis there with iranian officials during his 3-day stay in tehran. rabbani said at mehrabad airport that he intended to exchange views with iranian officials on ways of settling disputes in afghanistan. aminzadeh expressed hope that afghanistan's problems would speedily come to an end through peaceful means. vd/ys end ::irna 19/12/99 13:14
