Canada to provide humanitarian aid to Afghan refugees

WASHINGTON (NNI): A spokesman of Canadian government has said that United Nations and other donors have agreed to continue humanitarian aid programme for the Afghan refugees, reports VOA.

The spokesman said that this government was providing humanitarian aid to Afghanistan through UN agencies and Red Cross and was also sponsoring NGOs working in that country.

He said that his country also wants to provide humanitarian aid to Afghan refugees in Pakistan and Iran. He expressed satisfaction over the meeting. He said that the participants who were representatives of different countries, discussed the Afghan situation particularly human rights abuses, women rights violations, repatriations of the Afghan refugees and security measures for aid agencies in Afghanistan.

He said that it was a useful meeting because they exchanged views and information about the situation in Afghanistan. He pointed out that representatives of different countries expressed their determination to continue humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.
