Opposition claims killing 165 Taliban

TEHRAN (NNI): Afghan opposition has claimed killing at least 165 Taliban including four prominent commanders and injuring 380 others.

The embassy of the deposed Afghan President in Tehran has issued a statement saying that the opposition forces have arrested 180 Taliban besides seizing 34 Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) and four tanks.

The statement also claimed that the forces of the anti-Taliban Northern Alliance have captured 12 villages in Faryab province.

Meanwhile, the envoy of the former Afghan President in Tehran has sent a letter to the UN special envoy for Afghanistan, Lakhdar Brahimi and UN Security Council complaining about the imposed war in Afghanistan.
