KABUL, Nov 30 (AFP) - Afghanistan's
opposition forces said Monday they had extended a push across the far
north after a dawn popular revolt left 40 Taliban troops dead and
another 200 imprisoned.

KABUL, Nov 30 (AFP) - Afghanistan's
anti-landmine campaigners Monday voted to press ahead with efforts to
ban the lethal weapons and vowed to closely monitor both sides in the
country's bitter civil war.

The Taleban militia in Afghanistan say they
will appoint three recent defectors from the opposition to official
positions.
But a spokesman, Wakil Ahmad, ruled out
the possibility of sharing power with other factions.

senior Yemeni Moslem clerics met recently in Afghanistan with Saudi
dissident multi-millionaire Osama bin Laden to discuss anti-US
cooperation, the Arab daily Al-Hayat reported.

forthcoming meeting of the Afghan Support Group (ASG) to be held in
